Reason
20 years old and growing 20% a year, but it keeps too little of its revenue as profit, and 20x profit is steep.

Why it's interesting

  • Founded in December 2005, based in the Czech Republic and bootstrapped throughout; the seller reports zero debt.
  • Revenue is growing 20% a year with churn steady at 3-5%, on $360K of recurring licence revenue from 251-500 customers.
  • The seller says API integrations make clients sticky, and new clients go live in days rather than months.

What to watch

  • At 20 times profit the price rests on the seller's own argument of about 2.5x recurring revenue, justified by its history, low churn and contracts; current earnings do not support it.
  • The figures don't line up: last month brought $40K of revenue and $12K of profit, a 30% margin, against $50K of profit on $400K over the last 12 months, and recurring revenue sits below that 12-month revenue.
  • The customer count is given only loosely (300+ in the title, 250+ in the seller's pricing case, a 251-500 band), and no owner hours, staff roles or sales channels are given for a team listed only as 2-20 people.

Who it fits

A buyer with financial-services software experience, or a fund-reporting firm adding clients, able to manage a small Czech-based team and pay a seven-figure price.

Ask the seller

  1. Why did the full year earn only $50K of profit when last month alone made $12K: which costs fell or one-offs dropped out?
  2. How much recurring revenue is on multi-year contracts, and what share comes from the ten largest clients?
  3. Who handles sales and client onboarding today, and which of the team stay after a sale?

Growth plays

  • Sign fund administrators as white-label resellers, since each one serves many small managers who need factsheets and investor portals.
  • Add EU SFDR sustainability disclosure templates alongside factsheets for European funds that already publish through the platform.

Acumen Wire labels

Every business here gets one label: the reason it made the list. Listings that fit none are left out.

Solid Business, Fair Price
Established (5+ years), profitable (20%+ margin), steady, and fairly priced. A serious candidate to buy.
Solid Business, High Price
Meets the same quality bar, but the asking price is hard to justify.
Worth Studying
An interesting model or growth story, or a larger business that doesn't meet the Solid bar. Better to learn from than to buy.
Small Growth Play
A small working business ($25K+ revenue, $10K+ profit) that a skilled marketer could grow.
