How it rates

ValuationFair

Other B2B software businesses we've tracked mostly ask 2.3–5.4x profit, or 1.9–4.6x adjusted for its short history or recent decline; this one asks 2.8x.

Durability

Launched in September 2024 and growing fast, but everything depends on pulling transcripts from YouTube.

Hands-off—

Owner hours and staff aren't stated.

Why it's interesting

  • Monthly revenue rose from $3.5K in October 2025 to $23.8K in October 2026, by the seller's figures, averaging about 7% a month since April, with paid acquisition turned off.
  • The API earns about $15.4K a month (65% of revenue), with subscriptions at $2.5K and AdSense around $4.9K; running costs are only about $850 a month.
  • Traffic grew roughly tenfold in 12 months to 240,000+ daily unique visitors and 1.14M monthly users, and 1,000-5,000 customers pay.

What to watch

  • Every product relies on getting transcripts out of YouTube, and the listing doesn't say how; a change in YouTube's access rules or terms could cut off the service.
  • Churn is 10%+ and rivals such as youtube-transcript.io and tubetranscript.com, named by the seller, offer the same core job, so there is little evident moat.
  • The last 12 months include a one-off $11K sponsorship in August, and the growth claims differ (240% annual growth versus 6.8x year over year; about 20% versus 7% a month), so repeatable monthly revenue needs rebuilding month by month.

Ask the seller

  1. How does the service pull transcripts from YouTube, and has YouTube or Google ever blocked, rate-limited or contacted you?
  2. How many API customers pay, and what share of API revenue comes from the top five?
  3. How many hours a week do you spend on the business, and what does the handover of code, servers and API accounts include?

Growth plays

  • List the API on RapidAPI and similar API marketplaces, where developers building on YouTube data already search for transcript endpoints.
  • Package bulk API plans for AI note-taking and video-summary apps, which need large volumes of transcripts and already budget per call.
  • Add paid student features to the Chrome extension, such as timestamped notes and one-click export to Google Docs or Notion for lecture videos.

How we rate

Every business gets three ratings, each with a one-line reason. They describe the business; they don't decide whether it's listed.

FairHighLow ⚑Valuation
The asking price compared with similar listings we've tracked, adjusted for the business's record and size. Low means cheaper than most similar listings: ask why before anything else.
Durability
Whether the profit is likely to last. Three dots take 5+ years, steady or growing sales, and no reliance on one platform, one traffic source or paid ads alone.
Hands-off
How little of the owner's own time the business needs. Three dots: under about 10 hours a week, or a team runs the day-to-day.

A dash means the listing doesn't say. Businesses listed before we started rating, in early November 2026, show no ratings.
