3 Online Businesses
Happy Friday peeps.
Today we have 3 businesses for sale. I’m taking a backstep from the format of one business per email with the long ‘Corey’s Take’. But I’ve added a new detail — 'Listing Type’ but I’ve included it to differentiate between all the listings as I like to include businesses that I do analyze, but probably wouldn’t buy.
Did you like the format of one business per email with longer analysis? Let me know.
Interestingly 2 of them are from Flippa. I’ve followed Flippa over the last 15 years but not closely as I have generally associated them with low quality businesses. Recently however I have heard some people finding good businesses on there, so I am skimming them.
Here we go
…
// House Plan Business – SDE $197,000 – Asking $951,127 – 4.9x
Listing Type (?): Interesting Find - Overpriced
This 12-year-old business offers 300+ exclusive house plans with a 94% profit margin and $25,874 in monthly profit. Despite being based in New Zealand, it generates impressive revenue, suggesting untapped potential in larger markets like the USA. The IP-backed product is evergreen and highly scalable, with additional growth opportunities in licensing and expanding its product line.
However, the high asking multiple raises questions, particularly since the easy growth path—expansion to the USA—hasn’t been pursued. For a buyer ready to execute on marketing and international growth, this is a profitable and defensible business with room to scale.
// 9-Year-Old Marketplace – SDE $131,208 – Asking $625,000 – 4.2x
Listing Type (?): Solid!
This 9-year-old real estate marketplace connects land buyers and sellers and has overcome the classic challenge of building demand from both audiences. Marketplace businesses are notoriously hard to start, but this one’s longevity speaks to its established place in the niche.
With $10,934 in monthly profit and a 46% profit margin, the financials are solid, and the 4.2x multiple feels fair if revenue is stable. However, public details are scarce, leaving key questions about growth potential and competitive position.
For the right buyer, this could be a well-priced acquisition in a defensible niche, but proper diligence will be key to understanding its true scalability.
// AI-Powered Video Platform – SDE $1.1M – Asking $2.5M – 2.3x
Listing Type (?): Solid!
This 9-year-old SaaS business offers an automated video creation platform with over 5,000 templates, catering to e-commerce, SaaS, real estate, and other industries. The business claims a strong foothold in AI-powered video editing, integrating modern tools into its legacy video template system.
The asking multiple of 2.3x SDE is low for the industry, which typically sees 3x–6x multiples. This raises key questions about its valuation, particularly given the founders’ claim of having profitably spent millions on PPC advertising and achieving $1.2M in ARR.
The bull case lies in its age and claimed AI integration, positioning it at the forefront of video editing innovation. However, declining revenue or a reduced ability to profitably acquire customers might be contributing to the lower valuation. Understanding why this aged business isn’t commanding a higher multiple will be essential for potential buyers.
